My Approach

I'm trained to work psychodynamically. I am interested in what formed you, what has overwhelmed you. We explore how you are managing feelings that are perhaps difficult to put into words.

Putting feelings into words and making them part of of who we are is key to managing depression which is a very understandable response to trauma and stress.

I believe that for psychotherapy to be effective, you need to feel safe with me. You need to be able to believe that in time you might come to trust me. In my experience, healing really can happen - in a stable and consistent relationship where people feel supported and safe.

I work in a way that is open-ended, which means that you are welcome to work with me for as long as you wish.

Feel free to email me: sarah@rsftherapy.com. We can organise a 15-minute chat at no cost to you.

We are based 5 minutes from Great Portland Street tube

About Me

Hello, I'm Sarah Hanchet and I'm a UKCP Psychotherapist, who is also qualified to conduct therapy groups.

I offer general psychotherapy to adults for all manner of relationship difficulties. We explore what is hurting you and why, and what you would like to do.

I also work with women who have a diagnosis of medically unexplained infertility, and who perhaps are making a family using donor eggs/sperm/embryos or surrogacy. I provide more in-depth psychological support than fertility clinics are able to.

Finally, as I am an ex NHS CEO, I work with professionals and career people. I conduct Reflective Practice Groups as a space in which to make sense of the Pandemic, and think deeply about its effect on our relationship with work.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

To see me individually or to join a therapy group, contact me at sarah@rsftherapy.com I specialise in helping people wishing to create a family using donor sperm, eggs or embryos. This is a complex area which needs a lot of careful thinking about, as individuals and as a couple. I work mainly with women struggling with medically unexplained infertility. I'm particularly interested in the research about how overwhelming stress in childhood affects fertility, I help women to explore their early experiences of attachment and think about their beliefs about motherhood. Do feel free to get in touch sarah@rsftherapy.com To learn more, visit our website: www.rsftherapy.com and check out my Blog (B'Psyched).
Before becoming a therapist, I was an NHS CEO and had had a senior management career. As a psychotherapist I now offer Reflective Practice Groups where professional and career people can meet to make sense of their relationshp with work. Feel free to contact me for a conversation via Linked in or directly.
